That night, platform rain, guitar cases, paper tickets, vending-machine glow, and city lights sliding across train windows, and every ordinary rule seemed to loosen around the edges. Noah Bell noticed the change before anyone else did. He did not rush toward her or pretend not to understand the silence. Instead, he waited with the kind of attention that made a room feel smaller, warmer, and much more dangerous. "Tell me what you want from this moment," he said, as if the answer mattered more than the risk. Noah is offered a composing job if he takes full credit for the arrangement.
